Description
Very Rare Early WW1 French stick grenade....cannot be found anymore, I was lucky to find this in France. This is the earlier version of the hairbrush grenade, very primitive and was used by the French from the 1890's right up until the end of WW1. In very good condition, apart from the rusty parts, I even found part of the original fuse inside!
(many soldiers lost their fingers and hands while pulling the nail out of the top, inserting it into the top wood box where the detonator was and hitting it with a stone or bayonet to trigger the detonation and less 5 seconds to throw it ) Then as WW1 progressed they fabricated many different numbers/ types of grenades.
I will take a good reasonable offer on this so---Any Questions please message me through MCN...Thank You!
