Defence & Police Long Service Medal.
Awarded to Police Sergeant H.G. Checksfield, London Metropolitan Police, who served with P Divison at Camberwell throughout the Second World War.
Defence Medal, Police Long Service Medal, Named: SERGT. HAROLD G. CHECKSFIELD. 
Harold George Checksfield was born on 8th November 1901 in Otford, Kent, and worked as a toolmaker.
Joined the London Metropolitan Police on 4th May 1925 as a Constable with W Division at Clapham. 
Promoted to Sergeant and transferred to Y Division at Highgate on 18th December 1933 and then transferred to P Division at Camberwell on 13th December 1937. 
Checksfield was pensioned from P Division on 23rd December 1951, and having latterly resided in Penge, died on 22nd December 1990.
