Thanks Lenny! It's the second HG black M43 I've owned in my whole collecting career...sold a mint one many years ago and now I only own  this one that has seen action in Central Italy...much more historically important than a mint one IMO!

Cheers

A great example of a rare piece of headgear.I don't mind the minimal damage as it shows it saw combat use.doesn't detract at all.

A very nice rare and hard to come by M-43 @Manu Della Valle and I as well prefer my headgear to show some genuine wear and this one fits that bill nicely as indicated by the stained lining which btw looks to be rayon..? I know the majority of the time the pull down tabs are produced from what ever scraps are kicking around but these are rather interesting as the thread count on the cotton material is very loose I wonder if these wear made from left over scraps from Material on the inner lining and sweatband..

Regards Mark

@BenVK..........talking about panzer caps and "strange" insigna...what about this one?^_^

An interesting set of insignia for sure! I'm assuming by it's size that it's a tunic eagle? There are so many variations and I'm no expert but I have seen similar but not identical eagles before. I'll see if I can find a photo.

Here's a vaguely similar one. It also has a long neck, small head and big eye.

Thank you for posting your eagle @BenVK....it looks very similar to the one on my cap!The eagle on this M43 is identical in size to our "usual" cap eagle...blame that to my photographic skills..or lack thereof!:(

Ah ok, it looked a bit bigger than a regular cap eagle.

Here's a cap eagle of similar design but without the gaps between the feathers.
