Davejb
A brilliant film, well acted, and pretty factual, the sinking of the Hood was a tragedy, My Dads second cousin Frederick, was a sailor on board and was killed when she blew up. The heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen detached from Bismarck and headed home, I have a KM dagger from that ship, If you think about it it was sheer luck that a torpedo hit the rudders and slowed her down, otherwise she could have caused absolute havoc among the shipping lanes, even more so if the other two battleships had joined her, it was also a terrible shame that more of the Bismarcks crew could,nt be rescued, I believe it was the Dorsetshire stopped to pick up as many as it could but had to leave because of fear of submarine activity. I heard that the German crew hailed the skipper as a hero for stopping
