Iraqi T-55 100mm Shell Case 1991 Gulf war.

This was one of a number of items brought back by a soldier of the 2nd Royal Scots Battlegroup from the 1991 Gulf War. This fired shell case came from an Iraqi T-55 found abandoned outside Basra after the ceasefire. The shell casing was lying nearby the tank which had no damage to it but had been left by its crew. When inspected inside there were items of paperwork and the commanders helmet was still plugged in to its console (I have these too).  A certificate had to be issued for this item countersigned by an Officer of the EOD to state that it was free from any form of 'contamination' then it was flown to Germany then brought back to the UK for me :) I have also included a view of the headstamping on the base. Cheers Tim.
