German Red Cross First Aid Book and Belsen Permit

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone

I didn't quite know where to post this question - but as they are German related - I put it here !!

I wanted to buy some German Red Cross pieces to go with a Red Cross Dagger I bought.

I have ended up with a couple of 'paper' items that in all honesty I don't think go with what I wanted to achieve and wanted to ask advice as to if there are any specialist sites etc that deal in this sort of stuff or anyone that might give advice ?

Pictures attached - First is an 'Amtliches Unterrichtsbuch uber Erste Hilfe' from 1941 and a bookseller in Koblenz ......and is labelled on the lead sheet to 3rd SS Panzer Division and a handwritten name I cannot read . (first 4 pictures)

The second item is a day pass authorising/permitting a British Soldier from the RASC to enter Belsen Camp on 30 June 1945 (single picture)

If anyone can give any advice I would be most grateful !

Roy, The book is fine, the 3SS thing has been added as you can clearly see with the paperclip mark top left, I have no idea about the Belsen thing from the Brits and I live here so I should pull my finger out and see what is about in that area!

Hello Roy,

Super items and very rare....Well Done in finding them!

All I know Bergen-Belsen was Liberated by the British (I think April 15th 1945) the RASC is Royal Army Service Corps, and Josef Kramer was camp commandant, who cut the tattoos off of dead prisoners and made lamp shades of them, also he had a bizzarre liking for shrunken heads, in his collectables. Also over 30, 000 were killed/ died there and bulldozed into pits by the British, many from Typhus including the famous Dutch girl- Anne Franck. The whole camp barracks were then completely destroyed by burning them down, also to stop the spread of typhus to the new Liberators the British. Please read up on Google to find the whole facts.

Thanks for showing us the images...after reading and seeing on films what happened there its very disturbing.
