Field Marshall Lenny Posted July 18, 2016 Author Field Marshall Share Posted July 18, 2016 As he's been caught out, he's now selling them as repros... I can't believe he's got the cheek to openly do this. Of course he relies on those who don't know who he is... ?
Davejb
I remember commenting on a Camo helmet posted on that site, and Dolin posted a like and messaged me stating that he agreed it was an obvious fake, what I did,nt know was that the helmet was originally one of HIS as the poster messaged me as well, Its getting strange when a faker cant remember one of his own fakes, apparently it was sold as original a couple of years back, the guy that posted it was trying to get a valuation on what he thought was an original, I dont know what happened after that, But I daresay it does help to fake a helmet if your into Automotive resprays and paints

Davejb
That will be interesting, He usually has something to say, and he must be making fair profit seeing he has two classic motors hidden away in his garage that only see the light of day every few months, would,nt it be funny if they turned out to be rebuilt with repro parts!!!!!!

Manu Della Valle
Oh...if anyone of you is member of the WAF is automatically a straight guy just for the fact of being here and for not having been involved in a quarrel about petty points like the Wafers do on a hourly base ,but should you ever meet a Wafite and give a new face to an old name just wave "Hello" from a distance,if you feel like being more formal and opt for a hand-shake instead, count your fingers afterwards! Desert Rat
Typical Nobheads who rip all / some of us off, sadly unless we specialise in certain/ very particular items, we haven't much chance to find an original one a 100% er....With India producing WW1 Picklehaubes..we English are NOT stupid we can easily see the difference, but with other scammers, they can (age) metal, leather, and for me FFI Brassards of the French Resistance, yes I know a fair bit about these, so I can tell / see the copies from afar...Be Cautious on all the websites offering cheaper items..that we know are NOT original ! Schwerpunkt
As a German WW2 helmet collector I have had the champagne rune decals in my cross hairs for a very long time. (since 2006) I started a database of German helmet lot numbers and those decals were always on different shells and almost always on what collectors consider M42 past the decal application point. A huge red flag. Secondly there never appeared any lot number duplicates which can only make sense if we consider the decal a 'reissue' type like the Pocher. But then again it makes no sense to have them on late war M42's and on factory painted M35's. (should be repainted then) Third observation, no heavily damaged examples were ever spotted. Four : Graphically there was a huge amount of variation between the known examples. The border , the runes sat higher or lower. Myself and a bunch of other collectors always rated these helmets as 'controversial' until finally a passionate collector whom I know personally took it upon himself to invest in searching out the truth. The result spawned topics across all the known forums.
