Here is a recent acquisition, shown on the facebook forum but i will be posting more in here now to get things moving.

Restored by my old friend Phil.

Eventually came to me in a trade up,im very happy with the item.

Used before a raid to light up the target by the pathfinders i would have thought?

Came with the original type 9 fuze.

I added the tailfins.

Concrete filling in the nose, the body is a thin walled tin composition.

A pal of mine in Finland has just acquired one also. Only two I’ve ever seen in captivity and I have one. :)

My mate paid 300 Euro for it around 8 years ago?  I found the tail unit seperate in parts at a show and had them welded together.  Its the original fuze that came with it as well. They are out there but quite rare.

Late to the party, but here's my 'Blitzlicht' bomb. Not in quite such good condition having gone off.

I've read they were used when taking night-time reconnaissance photos. When they went off, they apparently produced 60,000,000 candle power for 5 seconds. No wonder there's no paint left on it!

Quite a firework!

with only 5 seconds it must have been difficult to co ordinate the picture taking with the impact or was it a parachute device?

Parachute device popped out the end.
