Steve T
Hi All Had a great dig with my group members at the British army dump site permission of ours. Had some truly remarkable finds again, and I got so excited I forgot to take pictures of stuff before it was cleaned. I got one of the 'group' finds, (stuff found in spoil heaps and therefore shared out at the end of the dig), so that'll have to do ya! Vickers 303 cloth belt starter tabs. Three different types, one of which was unit marked PIAT rear sight and two trigger gauges. Ornate trigger guard and a rear sight Lee-Enfield oil bottles, Bakelite, plastic and brass. Lee-Enfield ID discs Browning water jacket corks without the cork. Vickers feed block bottom pawl spring. Split pin from ammo crate. Lee-Enfield training rifle mock trigger and magazine. Bren oil bottles. Bakelite spike bayonet scabbards, No 3 and No 4 'Victory' Believe this is a bipod clamp off a water cooled MG but not sure. Recognise it? Browning M1917 cloth belt starter tab Lee-Metford butt plates Lee-Enfield butt plates Long-Lee butt plates, all the tangs nicely marked Vickers .50 cal MG cloth belt starter tabs And the best find of the day for me.... Browning M1919 pistol grip
