WWI Division Patches

Here is what I have for loose WWI Division patches. 

First up the 33rd Division from my home state of Illinois. There are a number of variations to this patch and I will explain them as I go.

Felt on Felt

Felt cutout overlaid on cloth

Full Embroidered on Wool. The wool itself is very similar if not made from the same flannel material used for the shirts.

Embroidered on Felt. This one may be closer to mid-1920s, but it is an interesting example nonetheless.

Bullion Tape on Wool. These are one of two variations of bullion patches for the 33rd. The other being the fine wire wrap style. I was not able to scan that one due to possible crushing and ruining it. I will dig it out at some point and photograph it for reference.

Next up are the rest of my misc. patches. 

3rd Division- Bullion tape on velvet sewn to matress ticking

4th Division- Felt on Wool. Note the size of this patch

81st Division- Embroidered on Wool in the branch color for the infantry. This small patch was made for the overseas cap, though you often see larger shoulder sized patches sewn to the caps.

Railway Engineers- Embroidered on clothlike felt

7th Division- Embroidered on lightweight flannel similar to the 33rd patch above.
