Thanks for sticking with us over the last few years. It's been an interesting time for web forums, with the growth of Facebook I'm not totally convinced that the majority of users still want to use a web forum. Even the larger forums are suffering. It costs a lot of money to run these forums, unfortunately the sporadic donations and dealer adverts hardly cover the cost.

The MCN started as a traditional web forum in 1998, we've had our fair share of knowledge shared, lessons learned and fun over the years, but I think the time has come again to step back from this traditional format. I wont delete the forum, but hardly anyone uses it anymore. It'll settle into retirement gracefully.

Our Facebook groups have grown in numbers and activity over the few years, with a combined membership of over 25k members, it's not perfect, but it does seem to be enjoyed by the majority of members. I'd encourage you if you are on Facebook to join our MCN groups...

If you prefer the web to social media, we also have a dedicated website for sales, historic articles, reviews, links, features etc. As some of you may know, I write a monthly column in the Armourer magazine and I will be reproducing those on this website too. Other noted authors, collectors and historians will be contributing articles there also.

Also, we have a sales area, an ebay style auction as well as regular lotteries for charity and also for site funding. There is also a limited forum feature where you can chat away. It's early days and I'm still finishing off the site, still in beta stage but worth visiting and registering.

It will always be free for MCN members to buy/sell and host auctions. Non MCN members and dealers will be charged a nominal fee to cover hosting and licensing fees. It costs a lot of money to keep this going, so if you appreciate what the MCN does for collectors, then please consider donating.
