The “War to End All Wars”...Always Remembered!

In the last days of the most brutal world conflict that mankind had ever faced “The Great War” and “The War to End all Wars” came to its final bestial, bloodthirsty and devastating conclusion on the 11th hour, of the 11 month, in November 1918. This would be remembered as “Armistice Day”.

Today in 2018 it would be 100 years ago that “The First World War” finally ended for mankind...and Always Remembered!

This, the most unforgettable time of 1914 would be for all mankind become. a marked year in man's history that would without question be remembered for many, many generations to come, as the most horrific, bloodthirsty and destructive time of war, that took all their loved ones to an unforgivable, unimaginable slaughter and to their deaths!

Mankind was left in utter turmoil as to what the future would bring, but those left behind would ensure that those whose numbers are well in excess of 9, 000, 000 million who were killed in  ”The First World War.”...Would Never be Forgotten!

(In 2016 it was estimated that nearly 15, 000, 000 in total were killed)

Never, in its history, had mankind ever faced such a terrible bloody slaughter of a generation of “boys” who in their innocence fought for King and country, who would never return home, for they lie to this day in graves scattered across hundreds of square miles around the world, all that is remembered of them is a white cross or headstone in thousands of cemeteries where they now lie buried. On the bloody battlefields as - The Somme, Passchendaele, Arras, Ypres, Chemin de Dames, Verdun, Le Cateau, Lens, Vimy Ridge, Messines Ridge, and far away from home Gallipoli, the list is unbelievably endless but remain steadfast in our minds today, where all those loyal “boys” came to rest in a carnage of agony, suffering, pain and death.

They remain in our thoughts and hearts, just as the poet Rupert Brooke in one of his poems tells us - “If I should die, think only this of me, that there's some corner of a Foreign field, that is Forever England”...that is where they are remembered today...at peace, in sleep, in death, far from the fearsome horror and terror that they all faced and suffered so atrociously during the terrible conflict of 1914 - 1918.

There are those hundreds of thousands whose bodies were never found, who were literally blown to pieces by shell-fire and underground mines, or swallowed up and drowned in water filled trenches and craters.

Those living today had Great Great grand- parents, Grand-parents, friends, brothers, fathers and sons who are all remembered on this day as the young men of their generation who gave the “Ultimate Sacrifice” so that those left behind, that their families thereafter, and for the generations to come, could live in a free, peaceful, tranquil world.

But the “Second World War”, from 1939 – 1945, was soon to follow nearly 20 years later, and would become even more unimaginable for its own brutality, evil, destruction and sadism and devastation that would again encompass the world.

Not only with the terror and horror of the “Concentration & Death Camps” and the millions who were gassed and worked to death there, to the most horrific weapon ever invented by man and was used to kill over 300, 000 innocent people of Japan...The Atomic Bomb!

From the four corners of the earth the war ravaged countries, continents and islands, bringing the unbelievable and colossal amount of people killed to over 90, 000, 000!!!

Since that time there has been many war's that have ravaged mankind since 1945 all around the globe, that have killed hundreds of thousands of men and women who have served their country so loyally and who have given their lives.

All around the United Kingdom in every village, town and city there are memorials to the fallen dead of the Two World Wars, across the world memorials are placed for those who remember– and those killed in wars thereafter that continue down to our day.

Many thousands will gather at these and stand in silence, with their own personal thoughts and tears of a lost loved one and loved ones, of friends, sister's, brother's, father's, wives and boyfriends who were killed so long ago and those killed in recent years and months of wars that continue today. They will be without doubt on this day November 11th,  ALL of those killed “Will be Remembered”.

Yes, we today live in relative peace and tranquillity, due to the ultimate sacrifice of their lives of the many millions in all the wars, and we should uphold their sacrifice with Honour, Humility and Grateful Thanks and Remember those “Who Sacrificed Their Lives For Us All”

Thank you ALL Sincerely for your  - Likes,

I have been to most of the WW1 (and WW2) cemeteries in the last 30 years, and as always look at the gravestones to see their ages...to my shock most were in their early teens and twenties...It is heartbreaking to try and ever imagine what all these young boys went through, endured and suffered every single day..until their terrible death, their severe wounds and the pain they suffered...I have never left any cemetery without many tears....Thinking how sad and for their Mothers and families that they could never say goodbye or even kiss goodbye..My Heart and emotions are with All the Allied forces During "The Great War"....Soon on November 11th 2018.....A prominent, tearful reminder that the 1st World War had finally come to an end....LEST WE FORGET.....WE WILL REMEMBER THEM AND ALL WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR FREEDOM!
