Manu Della Valle
Nothing really fancy but a style of footwear very seldom encountered are these rubber “Knobelbecher” that were part of the heavy anti gas outfit. They are quite scarce because they had been extensively used during and after the War.A few pairs, minus the rest of the outfits, had been found in northern Italy by a “picker” nearly 25 years ago,and the conditions were remarkably good for rubber items made 50 years before! Attached the picture of a GD StuG crewman wearing them in the mud.I’ve goth more pictures somewhere in my HD. As usual the pictures will upload assbackwards no matter the order in which I’ll select them but...🙂 No...this time I’ve been smarter than the effing system!😎😎😎 1
Desert Rat
You,ve enlightened me Manu...I never realized the G....ms had wellies, shame for the Brits and Allied troops for they never had them during WW1..Would have (I think) saved many hundreds if not thousands from Trench foot, gangarene and amputations. Best to you...Ian

Best to you...Ian These are WW2,actually Ian,and they were part of the heavy anti gas outfit but where widely used on all fronts where mud and rain were the norm. They are quite rare because they were used up well into the late 40s. Your point makes a lot of sense, since trench foot and gangrene were one of the main IF NOT the MAIN cause of casualties and deaths during both Wars!
