Mark K
A rather interesting British GS (General Service) Mark 7 this particular helmet bares a 2011 dated contract label.. It has been nicely overpainted and camoed over with tan paint by spraying through a section of netting.. It is as well sporting a Surefire HL1-C-TN side mount helmet light and has been nicely outfitted with a 6 piece comfort pad kit.. Desert Rat
Hello Mark, Another nice helmet to see, looks really light, protective and with all that padding....a pleasure to wear (only at home though not fighting the enemy!) Best to you....Desert Rat/Ian
2 Black Bands
Nice lid Mark I've been wondering about painted MK7s for a little while. I've some which have been "sniper" taped and THEN painted...and I've often thought "they had the paint...why not just spray directly onto the helmet?"....but then a load of customised painted 7's were released (said to have been grabbed by a dealer or two from the stillages of 7s about to hit the market)..so that was that theory scuppered. I wondered if initially spraying the shell was like putting a sticker on a bike helmet...."weakens the structure" and all that...or whether the tape, being an "official" item could be explained as "it IS a cloth helmet cover!"..and then they were simply painting a cover.....and don't get me started on painted helmet covers!!
