I am registered, but only for 2 weeks or so.

@val: what list would you like to see? I don't get it very clear... Early ones? Rare makers? Else?

Some special FF33 specimen will be presented in my upcoming book.

For today here is an FF33 made by Siemens in 1962/63:

Well, regarding manufacturer, we can say TW and Hauser are the rarest. I have them both, but @Alperator's pieces are in better shape. So I let him this line.

The Austrian made ones are also not seen often: VTT, Eumig and Schrack Ericsson (bVX).

As for the year, the early ones are rarer, since fewer pieces were made. From 1934 I've seen Siemens, DTW, C. Lorenz, N&K and VBT.

More makers entered in 1935 (M&G, SAF):

Rare pieces are the Kriegsmarine versions (all SA) -especially the early ones from 1938-, and the ones marked as made for the Luftwaffe (SAF and SF) with BAL marks instead of WaA:

And, rare pieces are the ones made (and marked) in '45.

More to come [in the book ;)]

Well, not. Will be an A4, 150+ pages professional color print for a reasonable price. I have to get back at least a part of the thousands of Euros "killed" into my collection. The time spent on research is given back by the presentations I hold for the future generation.

Hi to all of you.

Not clearly part of rare FF33 (makers) list but I think it would be a rare marked item.

A 1937 Siemens Apparatebau FF33 alter Alt (see the scheme tab with 850 ohm impedance and disposition of receiver) that came to Spain during our last civil war (1936-39)

Please see the places where "vogelchen" must be. Instead there are several concentric circles that probably had erased the WaA markings. See also the black painted rectangle over the magneto where the eagle and WaA usually appear like in Csaba book. There where a lot of military material that was sent to Spain in "covered manner" from ammunition sold to both contenders. I have two german telephones with those circles. I also have an Italian "Apparato leggero tipo F mod. 1933" with all plates removed and headphones engraved maker´s marks removed and repainted in "grigio verde" and maker´s mark (perhaps SAFAR) grinded.

Waiting for any comments.

Regards.

   C.

Hi val.

Old examples (FF33 aA) of Siemens Apparatebau usually show red ink markings in every part. I think they can be part number or piece drawing number. It also appears other cast markings in bakelite, aluminum or zamak in handset. In some of the FF33 in my collection it can be seen that markings change from the olderto the end of war and postwar production phones. I was trying to make a chart to compare all in all pieces taht could be accesible without disassembly working phones while repairing the damaged ones.

Which is the publication origin of the chart that you have post above?

Regards.

Nice example of post war production.

I have a retrofitted 1940 TN with all "Vögelchen" removed and marked with SB hot mark in the place for WaA, white ink stamp with "54" inside circle, "J" and little "5" over "54". it has a curly handset cord with plastic insulation and the bakelite connector with five pins dated 1964. I think that all parts have been repainted and side pannels show grids also painted. It have a box with BVT decal and plates have been simply riveted with aluminum rivets without washers. Also the magneto WaA ink stamp has been overpainted with a blackish rectangle.

I think it could be employed by S-Banh - railroad - and retrofitting date is may, 1954.

Regards.

Val, Csaba.

Several days out from here. I´ve seen new messages now.

I will try to take new photographs to show the red markings more detailed.

Regards.

  • 3 weeks later...

the field telephone 33 in the course of time

on the left one of the first FF33, DTW 1934 (00144) a. A.
on the right one of the last FF33 pvk (Siedle) 1945

In 1934 DTW purchased the inductor from Siemens. Strap on DTW is DTW 1936, crank is DTW 1937, the case is also from DTW.

Grüße aus München
