US M-1 sporting a frogskin cover

Salty Korean War era US M-1 helmet by McCord Radiator with a Firestone P-55 liner..
It is sporting a 1953 dated green dapple or spot design camouflage cover reversing to a tan/brown variation,
Nicknamed “frogskin” by many GIs, the pattern consists of a five color green dominant “jungle” camouflage pattern printed on one side, with a three color brown dominant “beach” pattern printed on the opposite side.
This particular cover was manufactured by Blue Anchor and has been nicely stamped with dual EGA's as can be seen in the images below..

Yes Tony  ....Treat Yourself to another!

It's seems we always want to keep the good items, then sometimes a money problem comes along and we think..."well, need the money sell that! then we do, and later regret it very much.

Best to you and Mark....Let's see your new lid when you get it.

if i may say- the cover very possibly never made it to the KW. there has been much discussion about the 53 dated covers and that they never made it to Korea. ww2 surplus was very plentiful during that war and was used while some newer period items was used but, for the covers i say no. the pot i consider the m-51 model for it has green chin strap hardware with the t-1 fastener ball and hook. however i see what looks to be an m-56 cotton sweat band not the typical hbt that did see KW use. also i believe globe and anchor stamps were used after Korea not during. if that is an original untouched helmet i would say it was post KW, could have been used in Lebanon or early nam.
