TomChance
Originally, I assumed that the face of this buckle had been painted silver or even given some silver-colored, metallic finish. Thanks to Richard Auld, I now know that the original field blue paint was simply stripped and the face of this steel buckle was buffed (Sometimes I need somebody’s help in pointing out the obvious)! LOL! People like Rich are why I’m here. I want to learn! Anyway, there are no maker marks/dates on this buckle. Due to the style of the eagle, some details of the wreath and how the catch is mounted (Feet angled away from the wreath), I believe this may have been made by J.C. Maedicke but I would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks, Guys! Edited April 15, 2019 by TomChance Mis-typing (Bad eyes & fat fingers)! 1

lach470
Lovely LW buckle. I have a hard time differentiating LW buckle makers that don't mark their buckles - but there is no doubt that this one is 100% legit. NICE! Thanks for sharing!
