Norrie Posted June 10, 2019 Share Posted June 10, 2019 I shoot, Deer, Foxes, Rabbits, Cows etc etc...and on one of my farms, the farmer has an open day every year....the farm is part of The Leaf group of farms, hes very interested in my obsession.... aka militaria., and asked a few weeks ago, If I would be interested in doing a display on the day...so, rather anxious as I was, I agreed, it was going to be my first full blown display......He gave me the old farm, shop to use.......which I might actual;y rent off him, its available...:) WOW !!...what a turnout...two car parks full of cars, plus a field...stuffed with cars...over 700 vehicles, and my display had well over 300 visitors....I never knew so many folks were interested in militaria !....their were a few ex servicemen and women ( one who served with my boss and my nephew who is still in) they all said they had a great time, and thanked me for reminding them of some good times and some bad too....one lady asked if I had a collection box, I said no, she said, "Well you should have one"....she wasn't the only person that asked....so, next year its RAFA getting the proceeds...:) What amazed me was the amount of "clued up" youngsters that liked my display...seriously,. 7-8 years old these wee lads were, and they were telling me about rifles, helmets etc etc...:) I and my mate ( asst) Rab, had an absolute blast yesterday...:) Roll on the next display at the local nursing home in two weeks time...:) Anyway, a few pics of the display for you chaps...:) 2 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
