Richard Auld
Why does it have a NATO stock number on it? Were they used post war? Rich
Richard Auld
If so they are probably rarer to find than a WW2 issue?
Michel Lalieux
I did'nt know it's a NATO nr. I cannot believe that such bugle was still used by NATO. Strange... Anyway, I own 3 german bugles; 14-18 and 2 others, they are are all of the same patern.
Richard Auld
Michel, It is a German NATO stock number normaly 4 digits -two digits-three digits-four digits. Standard format for all members. The pair of digits in this case the number 12 equates to Bundeswehr, I know 01 is USA, 99 is British, there must be a full list somewhere. Anyway, perhaps the Bundeswehr continued to use this pattern of instrument? I have 4 or 5 but have never seen a Bundeswehr one, I imagine they are quite scarce! best Rich Edit, here is a link to wiki ref codes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NATO_Stock_Number Edited November 11, 2019 by Richard Auld
