Believe this helmet to be an original early WWII M-2 506th helmet and it measurements on my front seam -- 1” total on the weld marks you might see faint markings for a “C” loop bale. I photo’d another helmet to compare here is another rear seam WWII lid swivel bale the welds measures 1” 1/4 inch. the M-2 WWII Front Seam has a Heat Stamp of 362A dated December 1942
