German ammunition???

I found a single round in some of my dad's stuff that I have never seen. 1938, the Roman numerals VIII, and what looks like the nazi eagle and swastika are stamped on the base of the cartridge. It has a primer and projectile and weight feels right for a loaded round. I have pics just can't figure out how to post them.

Depending on where you are in the world live ammo is forbidden, there is a head stamp guide in the ordinance section.

As stated, it depends as to where you are, but a lot of places will get you a heavy fine, plus your house is then gone over by Police and items are taken away and its looked at, its then a few months before you get anything back, this has happened in England by a few guys I knew and they had all sorts of trouble come there way
