Steve T
Hi All Found a spot with hundreds of these buckles in today. Tracked down a picture of them in situ on a strap, but got no further! So, what is the strap off? The buckles were all found right next to the site of an old ammo dump on a British army training site, so could be off vehicles or ammo boxes......or something else!

Steve T
And yet more examples of this buckle have been tracked down! @Bill @Lenny Straps for 25lber shells, straps used to keep a bag charge container shut for large calibre artillery pieces.
Major General Bil4338 Posted March 2, 2016 Major General Share Posted March 2, 2016 Which just proves that a lot of rare web gear has been trashed and therefore denied to collectors, a shame but that's the military for you.obsolete equipment gets dumped.
