SAFFA sadly isn't as well known as things such as Help For Heroes. Most people would think they're exactly the same but they're not. Help For Heroes is a great charity however it only helps soldiers from modern conflicts whereas SSAFA helps veterans of all conflicts including modern ones. The worst part is the role the government plays, HFH is a government backed charity and because of this, the government feel as if they have done their part, leaving all other charities such as SSAFA. In my opinion, if you had to chose either SSAFA or HFH, choose the first option as then your money will go towards helping all veterans. (I'm not bad mouthing HFH as it is very good, I just prefer SSAFA).
