World War I US soldier tie with horseshoe (it appears) at bottom

Hey guys,

I'm trying to find out some background on what appears to be a horseshoe emblem on the tie of this 3rd Army soldier.  He is wearing leather gloves and his uniform appears to be a darker shade than the fellow he is standing next to.  Any ideas on the implications of that tie/emblem/pin?

Thanks,

Trev

  • Trevers changed the title to World War I US soldier tie with horseshoe (it appears) at bottom

Is it a Horseshoe or an Indian emblem, the guy in the picture looks a bit darker and could be from a Indian tribe ???

Possibly attached with the Farrier's? But as @Davejbmentioned, he does look native American.

Could also be for "Luck" just a personal pin.

He looks to be armed with a Revolver, can just make it out in bottom left of photo
