Sterling silver 12 Pounder Griebeauval Cannon and Limber

Hi.

Thought I would show you a cannon that I made. I like it!

The model is made from sterling silver and the barrel/tube is made from bronze and the it is gilded to a 24 carrot finish. The wood is African Black Wood which is more dense than Ebony and give a good polish. There is around 1.5 kg of silver in this model and I have made 8 in silver to date.

It is fully functional in every detail. I went to Paris to get measurements before I made this gun. Hope you like it.

Hi, welcome, love the detail and craftmanship on this. As an Ex Artilleryman I am of course going to be biased in this direction. If you make these commercially then I would recommend you contact some of the remaining Artillery units in UK as they are often looking to commission silverworks for Mess pieces or parting gifts for long time members.

Very nice!

Best
