Guys,

rescued these and some older paperwork.

The top piece is issued by the Police to confirm the house was totally destroyed.

The second is a 'community pass', no doubt got them accommodation food etc?

The last piece is the house insurance, I wonder if they paid out?

I thought it would be easy to research but transpires not so simple but with an interesting twist.

First, the date, relatively easy to match up to our first fire bombing raids. Also first use of 'Window' to confuse German radar!

Second, the street name easy-peasy, not!!!!

Transpires that the politics of the day required the renaming of circa 1600 unacceptably named streets in Hamburg, those named with Jewish connection or political adversaries names etc.

The street named in the document appears to be named after an NS 'hero' of the time shot by communists.

Just watched this World at war episode 12 which mentions the raid at around 31mins. The whole episode is interesting though!
