Anyone know what this Edelweiss pin is??

Hi all, I got this odd pin or badge recently with this Edelweiss patch. I have never seen this pin before. Its missing its pin, looks to be old. Any ideas? I love to add the odd or unusual to my small but growing GB insignia collection.

Thats was my thinking as well @val, maybe for one of those Alpine type hats.

@Afrikakorpsrat64 , do you see there any markings at all in the back? Maybe to check in good light and with magnifying glass?

I think a civilian souvenir badge, these sort of thing are still common for visitors to the mountain regions, similar to the metal badges that are for walking sticks or canes.
