Field Marshall Lenny Posted May 2, 2016 Field Marshall Share Posted May 2, 2016 I've been reassessing the forum areas, and added a few new ones. As always we will go with what is popular/requested by members. Someone, can't remember who, asked for an electronic warfare area. Nobody has posted in it so I'll suspend that area. Remember, the MCN belongs to you the members. Tell us what you like and what you don't like..

Martin Taylor
One thought is about document translations. I'd be willing to pay a small fee to get german documents translated and i know another member has posted a request for the same type of thing. maybe we can attract some non-UK users to help with this? Just a thought... Edited May 17, 2016 by Martin Taylor 1

Henri
I can understand, speak and read German....learned it from TV over here in The Netherlands. It only depends on what German it is, because the old Gotic German is very hard to translate and to read it at the first place. Even now a day Germans struggle with it. Henri
@Lenny Don't know if there is already a sub directory for it, but what about: personal gear You even can subdived it in US, Commonwealth, German and then tabacco items, ration items, hygiene items, juwelery / dogtags / charms. Most people I know like these small personal items, but very little reference can be found in books. Of course, a half or a few pages, but that is it. Just a suggestion! 1
Martin Taylor
Thanks Henri - the stuff i have is in high german so may be difficult and alot of it is handwritten. I will scan some soon and put a sample up to give people an idea of what's involved.

val
I think we need also a separate area for vehicles. Currently @Björn's Opel Blitz restoration thread is in wrong place - German Uniforms & Fieldgear. It's closest place i found, but vehicles are not fieldgear https://www.militariacollectors.network/forums/topic/4053-1939-opel-blitz-restoration-project/ And there's a lot more to come - @Björn's Opel Olympia, @Funksammler's two Kfz 17 etc.
Davejb
Thats a good idea, I certainly dont know enough about the vehicle side of things, apart from what they are, but it will be better to have a separate topic area so it does.nt get confusing on mine and Bils German helmets and uniforms pages
