1/32nd german bomber crew seated

This might sound a bit silly but I,ve been looking for two seated luftwaffe bomber crew figures in 1/32nd scale. For some reason, most aircraft kits of this size dont make or supply them, why I dont know. There are a couple of American specialist companies that do one but they are well expensive,and the price and incl the postage would be in excess of £25, and thats just for one figure. Does anyone know of any companies in the UK that do them, or if any members have any spare that I could buy, Its driving me up the wall trying to find them, cheers and heres hoping

No no luck there, I cant understand why you can get 1/32nd RAF, Swedish, Japanese, and every other countries pilots here in the UK but not German, its downright stupid, A proportionate amount of Aircraft built are Luftwaffe in model kits. I,m really flummoxed on this one

@Davejb
have a look on the FB of Wings Cockpit Figures.
I have a whole bunch of them and they are super!

Not cheap ( about 14-15 pounds each), but they are located in the UK.
Keep in mind that it can take a while before you get a reply from the owner, because it is an one-man business.

Have a look on his page if there is something that fits your needs.

Thanks for that Henri, they are fantastic figures , but just my luck they have no Bomber pilots that would fit the HE111, Back to the search AGAIN

@Davejb

Just checked around a bit, but indeed, they are hard to find!

I will keep my eyes open for.

What kind of pilots do you need?
Sitting in the cockpit or figures that will be beside the plane before take-off?

Seated pilots Henri, there are some in the US but the price is high then the shipping fee on top puts them over £30 each, that would be more than the kit cost, thanks for looking around, Dave

@Davejb

Do you have a brandname?
Most time what you can get in the USA is also available in Europe.
You only have to know were to look!

Ive looked at almost every brand there is . There was one company that did a seated Bomber crewman but now I cant find it. All the rest are fighter pilots and there arms are sited too low for the control column, and their feet are too wide to fit the rudder pedals. I think I might end up making them from British pilots, and adding details and sculpting

It is not easy to do a figure conversion, but did a little while ago my first attempt.

Don't use an expensive figure to try out first.
You just need to get the feel with the putty!

If you get that under controll, then it gives you unlimited possibilities! :)

Yeah, I done a few a little while back but that was for a diorama, I,ll use Milliput and shave and file on an old 1/32nd  figure first and once I get it right I,ll go for the proper pilot

@Davejb

You might get some Magic Sculpt and "green stuff".

Milliput can be good, but is most cases to "grainy".
For this most sculpters use Magic Sculpt or A+B Putty.

Both get rock solid and can be shaved, sanded and carved.

Green stuff looks like a ribbon of blue en yellow material.
Once cut you mix the 2 together and works the same as Magic Sculpt.
The advantage of green stuff is that it stays a bit flexable, so for delicate details perfect!

Most time both brands are used together, for making the solid parts and for the delicate parts, the specific use.

But a 1/32nd scale Mosquito. Only £20 ish and it has two pilots in it. Paint them in German colours. Job done, plus you get a free 1/32nd Mosquito!!

Just thought.....that leaves the Mosquito without a pilot.........in which case buy 2 Mossies and share the pilots about a bit.

I'm full of useful ideas me.

Great idea, now I,ll have two mossies costing £40, two pilots in the HE 111, and one pilot each in the mossies, do you not see a problem with that somehow, perhaps not cost effective, a bit odd with two two seater mossies having one pilot each, plus where the heck am I supposed to put two great huge mossies, I,ve got enough trouble trying to work out how I,m going to display the 1/32nd HE 111, the 1/24th Typhoon, the 1/24th Stuka, A Horsa and a Waco glider, a Lancaster, three Spitfires, two Hurricanes, a smaller Mossie, two 1/48th Me 109s, a 1/16th metal Tiger Tank, six 1/35th dioramas, a 3 foot long 2 1/2 foot high Schooner, a model ship Belfast, a  1/48th Bi- plane , a possible 1/32nd JU 88, especially when I dont have a little war room like yours to while away the time in:/

Oh for goodness sake!!  Put two in the He-111, two in one of the Mossie's, and have the other Mossie crash landed on your back lawn!! Solves all the problems.......

@Davejb, Tamiya sells the sprues of any of their kits SEPARATELY..get the one with the Mossie pilots,change them 'round a bit and turn them into two Hermie's Boyz and you'll be good to go!

Well at last I found 1/32 pre painted German pilots, from China, these are, in my opinion, the best ones I have ever seen, the detail is incredible and the best thing about them are the price, I got 10 of them for Four Hong Kong dollars, shipped. My daughters got me another 50. These pilots even come with a parachute that they sit on, their heads are moveable plus their arms are as well, I,ve already installed some in my 1/32 He 111, JU 88, Arado, plus, I repainted two , one in American colours and the other in RAF , for My 1/32 Spitfire and American Mustang, they have brought these planes to life

Hello to you Model collectors,

I have always liked these since a boy (when they were metal) don't know if they make all these planes, crew etc in metal today. But I would like to see some of these completed - planes and pilot's etc.....Great Hobby. I may join you all and start collecting. I think?? Tony has a great collection of DAK items/ models etc, hoping he can show us some of his soon.

Keep collecting & thanks for showing us all on MCN.

Best to you Dave and Model collectors.

Ian
