Bits of stick grenade 24

Guys,

Had a wander around today and checked out the locations on the 1943 local map.

We have a real problem with wild pigs where we are but they have their uses it would appear!

@Richard Auld nice to find stuff like that on a walk! I am trying to restore this M24, if you should find a serviceable end piece with the threads for cap, I would be interested, also looking for the head. Thanks

Send me your address, when I find one I will send it, got one last night still round but with a little pitting, even has the tiny nails still. I will post it later see if it passes muster, last night shift tonight!

The 3 circled are not too bad, I think the left one would straighten when fitted and the other two have nails still.

Thanks @Richard Auld agree, the one on left looks ok. Just want my grenade to look a bit more complete. I'll PM you my address. Thanks!

Have you got the end screw cap already?

I have the cap that came with it, rough but will work for the display,

Oh bloody hell AK, if I,d known you were looking for the head and prong base plate, you could have had mine, it was in great condition and with writing around the head, I sold mine at War and Peace last year, got a decent price for it as well, witch surprised me

Thanks @Davejb no worries. It's been a slow restore, I got a nice fuse base from Andy awhile back.

Tony,

I hope you don't mind that I am posting up the pictures that you sent by PM.

I have been poking around again and the pigs are out of control!

I will post todays finds when I have cleaned them up.

In the mean time here is what Tony has done with the bits I gave him.

Glad they have found a purpose!

Best

Rich
