kap
M35, NS64, 6150 SD HEER. Decal was overpainted according to directive during WW2 and its battledamaged so its missing a pin. And one of the bands that fasten the inner liner band to the outer liner band is broken. It has original but unmarked chinstrap. This helmet was found by a member of the Norwegian resistance in Masfjorden/Stølsheimen, Norway just after the "Bjørn West" operation. I aquired this helmet from his daugther. This was what she stated; "He found it in Masfjorden just after the "Bjørn West" operation that took place in Masfjorden/Stølsheimen towards the end of the war" According to lotnr. Catalogue: "M35, NS64, 6150 SD HEER ZSH". Shell produced in 1940. 1 1

kap
Richard; I have a few too. But I just leave ut as is. I have others that are complete so it doesnt bother me as its original battle damage. /K
Richard Auld
Yes, you are correct, I have a few too with missing splints, I just can't see myself how they could come out in action?! Mine are most likely people fiddling with stuff, one in particular, I was fool enough to lend out for a Regimental Mess Party and it came back without one of the splints, ahhhhhh! kap
If they fastened net, wire, tread or other camo. this could pull out the pin.

Davejb
Nice M35 with all liner parts in place, and a good strap. Its possible that the exterior liner pin got damaged, leaving the flat inner round piece so someone removed the remaining parts intending to replace it but never got round to it 1
