Björn
The M33 Drillichanzug, or the fatigue uniform was ment for use in service or duty, to spare the regular field uniform for wear and dirt. It was used for everything, from Barrack-cleaning, weapon service, shoe or boot shining and also in Manöverübung - Field exercises. Pictures of these uniforms in use, show up frequently, but these uniforms are not so very sought after by collectors. ( Proberbly due to lack of insignia and other bling ) They do show up from time to time, and are not very expensive ( compared to German field uniforms at least ) I am quite fond of these uniforms, and I think that they can potentially make a very good display object. I have found a few pictures of such uniforms, some of them in color. There is something about these early uniforms, the offwhite color in combination with a green sidecap or helmet and the belt with mag. pouches and black boots that I find very apealling.
Björn
I have collected a few uniform items, of this early work-uniform, and I am aiming to put up a display later on a mannequin ( or maybe two ) First I have the jacket. It is very nice, in lightely used condition The flap-less lower pockets Early brass collar hook and loop It's in a large size, and has nice factory markings and depot stamp. 1939 dated. The internal S-rings for the removeable buttons Inside wiew And at last the back and front of the jacket.

Björn
I have yet another pair of trousers. A little bit smaller size, but they are in really mint, unused condition.
Björn
And I have yet another set of trousers and jacket. The jacket is 1936 dated, and the trousers are 1938 dated. It's the best ones I have seen of this early production, and in such a large size. There are a lot of very nice stampings in the jacket: And the trousers: I am thinking of getting one or maybe two mannequins and put together something like this: I think it could be a very decorative display. Anyway, here are all of the M33 Drillich pieces that I have pictured together: Hope you like the pictures 🙂 Best regards Björn Edited October 9, 2019 by Björn Spellcheck and added information.

The picture was taken by a collegue of mine in April this year 🙂 Harley Davisdsons are nice bikes, but I'm a little more interested in getting one of these: http://www.fahrzeuge-der-wehrmacht.de/Artikel/Zuendapp_Ks750.html I am going to get one of these someday. Desert Rat
Mmmmmmmmmmm.......OK I will keep the Harley, but you are both right, that Zundapp looks great, that would look great in my living room, at least it's got some super history with it. How much (if you can find one worth - to be restored? and fully restored?) Best to you both.....Desert Rat/ Ian

Björn
Thanks. Yes like much of the other Wehrmacht issue clothing, these were often used up in the civillian life after the war.
