kap
This Kriegsmarine helmet comes from Horten, Norway were it was found after the war. It was a trip to Alaska before it came back to Norway. It has, curiously enough, traces of a Flower power sticker on the right side.
Davejb
Very nice , and thats a keeper, the paint looks period, the decal is a good one, the liner is in very good condition, with very little wear and tear and its pretty clean, the pins look to be solid and well in place, plus a good chin strap, well done Kap

Richard Auld
Nothing wrong with a bit of flower power in this case? All part of the history. I shudder to think how many helmets were reused for bikers etc? Rich
Davejb
Theres a guy near me that rides around on a large three wheeled trike, and he wears a an original German helmet, I.m sure its a M35, I saw him one day and asked about it, he showed it to me and it was a beauty, original liner, in good condition, original paint, no decals but it was named at the rear, I said to him "do you know how much this is worth" he replied " I dont give a jobby mate it keeps the rain out" Some people eh

Davejb
I was wondering that as well, but it looks like a spill of some kind as the runs extend onto the crown of the helmet
Richard Auld
Dave, I think if you had the job of applying a bit of varnish day in day out you might become a bit careless, I have read that it was done and that at times it can make a toned Heer look like a KM but it is not really my area. I just wouldn't want the job! Rich
