German sword

I have an army officer sword made by Eickhorn but the loop on the handle is broken and missing. On the lookout for years for a poor condition sword to use as a parts donor. There is one for sale now on an auction site but is a different manufacturer so there is differences in the handle. Are all makers different in this respect? Would like to keep it original. Any observations appreciated.  Cheers Brian

I have a freind that works at where they destroy handed in stuff. I can ask him but it may be more than the job is worth. They get all of the items for destruction, mostly edged weapons all sorts.

Best
