Field Marshall Lenny Posted April 1, 2016 Field Marshall Share Posted April 1, 2016 I've been offered an old copy Knights Cross with Oak Leaves. Not a bad copy and nice patina. Think it's a 70's copy. No pics yet, but hopefully soon. Anyone a rough ballpark idea of value of these? Also an original ribbon, value on that? I'll get pics asap.... Davejb
I think piccys are needed, some of the older copies were quite well made , sometimes by jewellers for museum displays, it all depends on the detail involved and accuracy of size and the metal used, but I reckon a really good one with original ribbon could go for up to £90-120 ,especially if its a museum quality copy, but half of that could be the ribbon. If its a jewellers copy the size and weight will be pretty close to that of an original, ie weight of 30-33 grams, the size including the the small suspension loop will be close to 54mm, Its doubtful if it will have all hallmarks but some might be there. as for the original ribbon , many have a orange hue to the red section of the ribbon, The swastika , on originals, came right up to the edge of the border, copies might do or not
