WW2 US Mark 2 Pineapple Grenade Restoration

Hi all. I have this WW2 body Mark 2 and I want to do something about the paint, it doesn't really show in the photo but it's completely the wrong green and a lot brighter in real life. 
Would it be best to try and strip off the new paint and see what's underneath?? If so what is the best method please? Or re paint?? If so then where is the best place in UK to get the right green and yellow colours? Is it best to paint or spray the green? I also need a WW2 fuse as it currently has a post war Dutch fuse but I think I may be able to get one from a friend in the US. Many thanks.
