Mark K Posted April 22, 2016 Share Posted April 22, 2016 (edited) I have a few turtles in my collection but the green Hessian ,brown net and scrim made this particular helmet rather desirable to add to the shelf for the purpose of display. The liner and inner furniture are well marked and dated to 1972-1973 the chinstrap is as well marked with the soldiers name and possibly his service number but all I can make out is the name which is ( C RYAN ) I did find the lift the dot fastener quick release pull tab rather interesting in this particular helmet and it looks rather ersatz .... @Bil4338 had suggested on a different venue that there was a possibility that the press the stud fastener tab could be a piece off of a shortened rifle butt retaining strap from a 44''Pattern webbing belt...
