It's the spout from the leather funnel for filling the water jacket of a Browning M1917 :)

Correct! It is indeed the rear sight to a PIAT.

Your bit is interesting Waff. What dimensions is it?

About 4" long and say 3" wide?

I think bronze or brass? Heavy little bleeder!

Looks like an eyelet from the tip of a large piece of ordnance. Sits in the fuze well to protect it. Possibly :)

About as close as you get buddy.:D

Indeed its part of the shackle from a parachute for the german mines dropped overland to blow the roofs off houses before an incendiary raid.

This one recovered from a Shropshire where it had hit a pylon and exploded. Imagine the blast to shear off that coupling! Eeesh!!

Jeez! That would have been one hell of a bang!

Try this one......The clue with this one is the AM stamp :)

This post has been quiet for far too long. Previous one was aerial sights from a Vickers K or Lewis, (the jury is still out at the minute.....)

Try this one for size..........(I'll give you a clue on this.....it's USAAF related).
