Bayonet back to life

So I got this berthier bayonet about a month ago the first photos are after about 8 hours with wire wool and oil and I know the purists will be up in arms(pun intended) but I could not face to see it slowly rust away with the crap home made handles so I then went mad on it made my own home made handles and aged them then went to work on all the metalwork

Excellent job! I don't mind a sympathetic refurbishment when the quality's as good as that!

Cheers mate I was pleased with it did a butcher bayonet too but did not take before photos and it was by far worse than the berthier bayonet and has turned out very nice.

i am in the process of bring a 1896 MOD Mauser boer war rifle back from the edge of the rust heap I hope it goes as well as the bayonets have
