Military surplus store - WW2 ammo cans

Having a poke about my favorite military surplus store, I came across a huge pile of green ammo cans. I recognised them as mostly being the late version German ammo cans, but none appeared to be marked. I went almost all the way through the pile until I found some that were!! I got three in the end, (one an original pattern, the other two the 1941 pattern), all Waffenamt stamped and WW2 dated. £12.50 each

I stripped the bloody awful green paint off them and repainted them in the correct colour.  I also removed the leather handgrips, dyed them the correct colour and re-attached them after the paint was dry. Turned out pretty good...........just need to make them a little bit 'salty'
