Fresh from a house clearance by my trusty antiques pal.

I'm tempted to keep this if price right as I've a breast eagle on loan from another pal and this will look great framed.

My antique man wants £100 for it.

Is that high end or a good price.?

Was from a 92 year old ladies house who's husband was in the British army.

cheers in advance

This is a real one for me. I've learnt a basic first thing which is the lettering on R and P, by this I believe this is pukka. £100 is good for this for sure, seen action and wear, I'd say easily a £150+ cuff title. I'm not just a pretty face ?

But I'm barely an expert so wait for the actual experts the way in.

Cheers pal,i don't think it was worn though as I can't find any sewing holes?

Maybe it was just left in a dusty drawer, or something like that. Plus I don't know why a 92 year old lady would lie, but these days anything is possible ?

Was rolled up in a drawer indeed.

Probably got just dusty or dirty that's all, nice cuff title though mate, you see these going for a bit above £200 mint, but this is complete and just dirty from a drawer so £150-175/180 me thinks.

But Dak or AK rat will know better.

Hi @Waffenamt,

It's an nice original Afrika Korps cuff title and the price is not bad :)

Can you show a close up of the R & P please mate, there's nothing to worry about I just want to confirm something, also is there a chance you can find out the womans name at all?

Hi @HetzersGonnaHetz,

The 1970's fake actually copies an original variant with the same "R & P" sizing, but the "O" is wrong also the back looks like tartan weave, anyway check this thread out on the Afrika Korps Forum.

Thats not the only things to look for, notice the "oval" look to the "0"  a reasonable indication as to being real and the elongated form of the "F" on the fake, But the one Waff has shown is a corker, and well worth the price, in fact I would say its cheap as chips especially for a relatively unused version

Hi @Waffenamt,

That is a real shame, as that provenance would have been good to have and maybe we could have found out something more about the title.

Can you do a close up of the R & P on your title please mate?

Hi @Waffenamt,

No problem mate :)

I can confirm it is the variant Afrika Korps cuff title that is doubted by the some collectors, but DAK and cuff title collectors have no doubts about these at all.
