Hi guys, show me pics of your hate / souvenir belts.  I feel the term hate belt is wrong, more like a souvenir belt. Here's one of mine... :)

Hi Lenny,

That is a great hate/souvenir belt Lenny.and In most cases "hate" is not the correct term for these belts, but,in some cases you can see where the belt has been cut from the body of a dead German soldier and then the belt has been used to mount allied or Axis badges and awards..

All the cut ones I have seen are early tropical belts and buckles from North Africa and it would be interesting to see if this happened with European German leather belts too?

Here is my example. It was not taken off a dead soldier. A Canadian soldier on occupation duty after the war put it together from the multitude of prisoners that were coming off ships at the port where he was stationed. These are all KM based trade badges. I assume the shoulder boards are also KM?
