I have a question about this SS cap insignia that I bought at an auction over 30 years ago along with other military memorabilia. It has the number 55/42 on the back. I wonder if anyone knows more about this insignia, such as when it was made, what material it is, and how rare it is. I appreciate any help or insight you can offer. Thank you! If it is wrong then you could be forgiven because these have a bit of age to them now, too?
