Mismatched k98 bayonet and scabbard

I saw a k98 at a show last weekend.  It was a Berg & co blade with the name spelled out. The scabbard had a matching serial number but the maker's mark was in the form of S/155 g style.  I looked up the number and it was a Horster scabbard. Did Berg use a scabbard from another company or did someone stamp the scabbard to try and get more money out of a "matched set"?
