Yup....I am still leaning towards a reproduction buckle. Belt hook, prong tips and the lack of detail to the front are what have me leaning towards repro. I'm sure I have seen other buckles like this accepted as reproduction from other buckle collectors. I would have to dig on other forums to find it. Cheers! Rob2 points

Ha Ha, you remind me of a guy who was always at Farnham Arms fair and others, he had a stall but was always dressed in German uniforms, but at least they were all real, he was actually a nice guy and would talk to you if you asked a question, not like some of them. one guy a long time ago actually told me to bugger off once and I do mean once, I,m afraid I had to give him a dressing down in front of the other stall holders, when he threatened to punch me I had to produce my warrant card and asked him if he would like to be arrested and all his gear taken back to the local nick, he apologised and offered me a discounted M43 cap, which I turned down, I took it as a a half hearted bribe of appeasement2 points

The rings on the two fuzes above were attached to the launching rail or aircraft pylon by wires which pulled and activated the fuzes on launch. The bottom threads are were the gaines attached(Penthrite wax filling) The collection graced by this smashing booklet i was given when i left my last firm.2 points

After seeing that ridiculous priced V-1 Rudder on ebay,i thought a show and tell Sunday in order. Here is a selection of various parts from my collection for your perusal. The Odemeter from the front of the missile,Various fuzes. There are two examples of the ELAZ 106 fuze. 17Bm and VZ80 fuzes. Also pictured is a piece of petrol pipe for the infamous sounding Argus pulse-detonation engine. The odometer was set to cut off the fuel supply after a certain number of revolutions. Mine is the best example ive ever seen and cost a fortune! The ELAZ fuzes are undergoing restoration and are missing outer cases at the moment. The rudder shown has the steering lug attached unlike that ludicrously priced one on fleabay1 point

To name but a few most feared fuzes that the Germans put into mainly SC250 Ariel dropped bombs was the Timed delay Elaz 17 and 17 A. Up to 85,hour time clocks so the bd man could not tell how long it had left to go. A heavy coil magnet was used to temporarily stop the clock while a more effective method was used to jam the clock.1 point

Ok, after a false start last night, all seems well with the new image storage. There may be a few pictures still crossing over, but almost there. No more limits on picture uploads, although there is a staggered policy so in effect only officers get unlimited uploads. (along with a few other benefits which are coming soon. You can buy a field commission if you wish to help the forum cover hosting costs etc.) Please remember that although there is no limit on picture uploads, the more we upload the more I pay every month so take it easy. All field commissions, quartermaster purchases and donations go towards server hosting, picture storage and software costs. Any profit after that will be donated to military veterans charities. Anyway, any problems give me a shout....1 point

Here's my last DAF....the cream of the crop! It's a Gold DAF that is quite hard to find. Assume these were used by higher ranking members. You don't see these come up for sale often. I do like it quite a bit. Cheers! Rob1 point

We had a similar incident happen here in Canada last year: http://news.nationalpost.com/news/canada/fake-soldier-franck-gervais-pleads-guilty This moron took time to go to the National War Memorial on our Remembrance Day in full uniform, including medals that were not put in the right order and parts of mis-matched uniforms. He was interviewed as a hero but then real soldiers watching knew something was wrong when they looked at his uniform. I hear he got probation for a year. They should have given him fatigues and shipped him out to Afghanistan instead!! Cheers! Rob1 point

As it was dropped, vanes deployed in the air after fuze burst to throw out the incendiaries. There was a relic example for sale at last years W+P show in Kent.1 point

Evening all. I have graciously consented to join your forum. I will attempt to spread my Antipodean magnificence around as much as possible. Females ought to be made aware that I produce stupendous quantities of testosterone. Come closer than 50 meters and you will immediately fall pregnant. Best Regards, Ted1 point

That unfinished Mills is quite a rarity, I,ve never seen one before, even the filler hole has,nt been tapped with threads, or the top drilled for the striker. I would say that came direct from the foundry but I,m not sure if these were sent away to the armouries like that to have all the remaining tooling done1 point

Er, you seem to have a few Grenades there, I had 6 at one time, now i,ve only got one Mills 36 but the casing is dated 1918, but in perfect condition, brown paint, with ring and spoon, spring in great shape, never been filled, base plug dated WW2, yet this came straight from the Vet who used this in explaining to recruits the workings of the Mills. An interesting point about the Mills, is that many people dont realise the explosive power it releases. When I was in my 20s, a friend of mine was a scientist at the ERDE(Explosive Research Development Establishment) in Hertfordshire. This place was used for testing ordnance and on site there were huge bunkers that had a macer top to them to allow concussion to escape, we saw him set up a remote controlled Mills and then retreated to a safe area of 400yds, One of the guys pushed the detonator and the whole ground shook, all of a sudden a large chunk of hot shrapnel landed 6 feet from where we were standing, 400 YARDS AWAY, we were all shocked, even my friend was taken aback as he had blown up tons of ordnance including Mills bombs and none had ever got past the macer before, It just shows how powerful the Mills was, especially in a confined space. But his job was a dangerous one , he even advised on terrorist bombs found in NI and abroad and regularly travelled to different places and was top security rated, what a job to have, except if one of the bombs he was testing did,nt go off, he had to go back in to see why not1 point

Also if you look at that lovely waff stamping, its exclusive to the luftwaffe. You see the 'chicken' eagle surrounding the inspectors number(57 in this instance)...Look at the curly 'L' thats round the number. Gotto love the designers.1 point

Nowt wrong with that Lenny, its not a bad starter fuze at all mate. Bakelite container too. Type 25B(impact fuze) as you say with a selector switch for quick and slight delay settings. I can tell you that the two dots just to the left of the ELAZ denote its for winter use. will dig up some more info the 'morrow.1 point

I'd expect the backs to be a little discoloured over time, also a printed trademark such as "Agfa", "Velox" or "Kodak" on the reverse.either that or an official stamp such as "Aktuelles Wehrmachtfoto", a photographical company or a handwritten annotation.have also seen ink stamped numbers as a serial no.1 point
