Belt buckles are my specialty folks - and I try to collect using the 'one of each' principle. Once I have a certain type, I move on. That said, there are a lot of variants in the general construction of buckles so that allows me to find many buckles of the same organization such as SA or HJ. I have many of these but they are all unique in their own way. Anyways. Hard to make out what all the buckles are, but I put out a banner that I have and laid them out for a photo shoot. I would say this about 90% of my buckles. I have others that are in display cases with daggers and whatnot. I have also added more belts and buckles too since these pics were shot a while back. One can never have too many buckles. LOL! Time allowing, I will put up pics of my favorite buckles soon. Cheers! Rob3 points

One of my favourite items. Tropical Luftwaffe Flak tunic. Has had period repairs and was veteran acquired over 25 years ago. A friend who is a dealer bought it from the veterans family then and sold it to a collector. The collector has had it since them, only coming up for sale last year. I couldn't afford it 25 years ago although I loved it at the time... The only annoying thing about it, the tunic was manky 25 years ago, a real been there tunic. The collector washed it... Good grief, why? Just why???? Anyway, when my dealer mate bought it back in again last year I knew I had to have it... Love it...2 points

I have worn imperial as well as ww2 German buckles, with and without the swastika. Lately, I opt for denazified examples. I have a denazified Polizei buckle that I use mostly, but when I was younger, I thought it was badass to wear an early pebbled Heer. LOL!2 points

I wear a denatzified buckle every day. An early droop tail Lufty with a brown belt on my jeans, a Heer on a black belt with dress trousers. Anyone else wear a buckle?1 point

Ok, we know we're all into Militaria and military history, but what are your other interests/loves/hobbies? For me, apart from my family obviously, it's cars and guitars... Specifically Subarus and Les Pauls.1 point

All the components of the 80 are now cleaned And ready for assembly. There was no firing mechanism within the body which tells me this came from the factory and dumped more or less in situe as I've since brought up a 2pounder fuze and an 18 pounder He fuze ,and the strangest one was a sectioned Vickers Armstrong model A from 1860 ,all empty and free from any substance and firing mechsnisms. I've cleaned this leaving a frosted look ,as polishing them to death takes away the originality .1 point

Hello, I won't say it's my favorite movie because there are many great ones, and while there are no battle scenes in it it is quite an excellent movie. It is called the Purple Heart, made in 1944 starring Dana Andrews, Richard Conte and Farley Granger among others. It revolves around a bomber crew taken prisoner by the Japanese and their treatment while imprisoned during ww2. It is what I would call a propaganda movie, no negative implication meant. Anyone that likes old movies from the 30's and 40's I think will find it quite interesting. The next movie I mention just might be my favorite movie or at least among my top 10, is called "Watch on the Rhine" with Betty Davis and Paul Lucas, he being a fighter in the underground against Nazism who comes to the states with his wife(Davis) and children to raise money to bring back to europe and fight against fascism. Again, I would say this is a movie meant to instill patriotism and rouse people to the fight against Nazism. As I think about it I have to say there are quite a few movies from this era, including "The Mortal Storm" with Jimmy Stewart, and also a movie called "Foreign Correspondent" with George Sanders, Joel Mcrea and Larraine Day. I could mention quite a few more but for now end with those mentioned. I have a fondness for movies from the 30's and 40's and while I like some of the modern day war movies I don't think many can hold a candle up to those produced during that era. Just my opinion. Davejb, I fully agree with you and the movies you mention, particularly "The Man who Never Was". regards, Duzig(Bill)1 point

Very nice! German awards have always had such a great look to them. You have a lovely collection! Rob1 point

Nice collection you've got started there. I think the HJ is possibly a reproduction given the belt catch. More closeup pics would be needed to confirm that though. Nonetheless - you've got some neat pieces. The tab on the SA buckle would have been added at some point - possibly by the original owners. SA buckles did not come with tabs from the 'shop'. Thanks for sharing! Rob1 point

Thanks guys for the input. The buddy is a collector and a shooter! LOL! Yes: it does kick like a mule when fired. I like it a lot. Pardon the pun: but I haven't 'pulled the trigger' on whether to sell it or not. I do like it quite a bit and it's my only WW2 era rifle. Cheers! Rob1 point
