  13. On an early morning in Oktober (2013) it was time to check out a big piece of Iron that some mates of mine had found in 2011! Because the site was in the middle of the dunes and A LOT had been changed in 2 years it took us more then 2 hours to find the spot. But after 2 hours we finally found it… After some heavy digging more and more metal saw the surface, it became very clear that this was some sort of gun or a part of it. After removing more sand and going deeper, suddenly it became clear! It was a mounting system for a german anti aircraft gun! We found the remains of the firing pedals and the mount for the gunners seat. Most of the parts seems te be in good condition after 70 years in the ground. All in all its a unique finding of a 3.7cm FLAK mount! All in all it took us the whole day and we had to go back home by the end of the day. Short after we heard that it was discovered by other people. They pulled it out with a tractor and gave it to a Bunker Museum. On the last picture you see how it looks nowadays. Hope you guys enjoy the story. Erwin

  18. For a first helmet you did damn good, nice DD M35, re-inforced liner band, intact Luft decal, near perfect condition, plus an unusual lot no/ 1944, and vet bring back, you cant get any better than that for a first one

  23. I no longer collect German TR items but I still have a few bits and pieces kicking about at home including some tropenhelms. First up is an Italian M1928 2nd pattern reissued to the KM with the variant shields and property of the German Navy acceptance stamp. Ken N shows a mint example in his book on German Helmets and most you see are unused and were found on Capri in the 1970's.

  27. I hate to be the bearer of possibly bad news, but many years ago there was a film being made at Battersea Power Station, I used to sell compounds like jewellers rouge, sizel wheels, polishing compounds etc, one of my customers was a metal workers/forge.They had been given a contract by the Films producers to make about 500 aluminium mills bombs, I saw them on the casting tables, and they were sent out unpainted, each one had PRAC on the bottom as per instructions and had ring pins and spoons, I even tried to get one from the owner of the business but it was a no go, It seems too coincidental that these are ally and have PRAC on the bottom as did yours, hope thats helpful
