  2. Holy cow, I would be crying in my soup if I had to sell those, what a grand collection that is, Its a disgrace that the EU is causing collectors to lose money, I think that collectors should petition the Government for losses incurred , there must be some legal re course that is available

  3. Yes, and this clown, I kid you not, was at an estate sale with the other kind of funny cool older fellow somewhere near Santa Ana when I lived there. I had been living on Netflix for the previous two years and had no idea who they were until someone said so. Anyway, Mr. Yuuuuup! asked me what I was there for and I told him the Japanese sword. Some kind of smart azz remark that he'd offer 500- or something ridiculous. I said "knock yourself out or buy the same thing all day long on Ebay for half the price. Both him and the other guy seemed miffed that I had no idea who they were. Wasn't til a year later when I saw them on TV and thought that I shot down both of those egos one beautiful California morning without even knowing it.

  5. Very nice, untouched tunic belonging to a GJ Uffz.It would be near mint if it wasn't for the stain on the right upper pocket flap and the right shoulder piece.A friend of mine is sure that it's blood, it could well be but it could be something else, even if it could really be blood from a light wound to the soldier face/ear/head or from a wounded Comrade he may have helped out of trouble,we'll never know! Cheers Manu

  7. Hi All, Here are some photos of my 1940 Lago Berlin made tropical peaked cap and it is about as DAK as you can get. The original owners name is written inside the cap. These early caps are extremely sort after and the prices are very high right now. This cap has an early type of tropical cockade and an not often seen smaller size early tropical cap eagle. D

  8. This K98k has seen action and it was imported from Eastern Europe 20 years ago together with 400 others.Amongst them there were rare "98s" like WSS ones and a few 1945 "dou" with fixed rear sights, but the importer rightly reserved them for himself and his collection! This BSW isn't 100% matching but it COULD be considered matching in that either at the armoury or at the factory its bolt has been swapped for another from the same maker! How do I know?Because WaA4 is only found on BSW made weapons and its very unlikely that given the low numbers of rifles made in 1939 by this factory (only 0,419% on a total offer than 14 millions K98k produced,i.e. only one out of 200 rifles was a 1939 BSW!) there were many to tamper with after the War!Given the fact that amongst these Mausers there wwere a few WSS Totenkopf-stamped ones and that they had been found in the same crates where they had been upon their capture,I wouldn't be surprised at all if they were rifles used by a WSS unit, even if there's a H(for Heere) stamped on the side of the stock and on the pistol grip!To be perfectly honest it's only speculation because I don't give a hoot about "Einrich's Gang"! All in all a very nice,SHOOTING,been-there K98k!

  10. Hi Tyler, I think you are going to like it here, as it is on it's way to being the best militaria collectors site in my opinion. D

  11. I wish I had the money to fight it, but I don't so keeping them was not an option I still have my rifles and I am worried about them too. Having said that only a few of them are worth big money, so I will hold on to them as long as I can. D

  14. I sold my Thompson collection a few weeks ago, because of the new draconian EU directive and I sold them at a loss, but how much of a loss would it have been when the EU has it;s way? I have never been an investment collector and I love military history, so it really hurt to let them go... D

  17. Dermot, I sold mine when I wanted to buy the bl@@dy Kettenkrad and I'll regret that forever! Now I only have one minty cap but its dated 1942 and without soutache!A cracking cap but worth a fraction of yours...and I don't mean in monetary terms!Oh,well..I had decided to focus only on the Italian Campaign, therefore it'll fill the bill just as nicely but I'd give an arm and a leg for an " Afrikaner"!

  21. I have been reading the book "Dead Wake" by Erik Larson, a great narrative about the sinking of the Lusitania. I am halfway through, and according to the author, the cargo manifest included, among other things, 1,250 artillery shells, and 4,200 cases of Remington rifle ammunition (303 British I assume). So, this makes me ask; were the Germans justified in sinking her even when it meant the deaths of over 1,300 men, women and children?

  23. No problems my friend @Manu Della Valle. There are a lot of grave robbing scum out there I admit, and I hate them all, but these aren't them!!! Please post a link to the thread when you find it. I am aware of the most prolific grave robbers out there. After spending 20+ years digging WW2 relics, you can't help but know who they are.

  24. MANY died there Dave!I try to stay the hell away from what these scumbags post on Youtube or on several fora! The dig, destroy, play with skulls and bones..they're the REAL SCUM of the Earth! There was a thread over at a forum started by one of these unterm....scumbags showing a REAL time capsule in Kurland or a place like that! There were bodies, helmets, weapons and all kind of things scattrered all over the place. The bodies were skeletons of course but the whole scene looked as if it had been frozen in time, say, six month after the War! Guess what? The 200-pages long thread shows these punks amassing piles of items that would have been sold for a lot of money;SS rings,dogtags,buckles,boards,papers...all kind of stuff! Now, if the MIAs Sturmbannfuhrer Schmidt and Felwebel Meyer were amongst those men we'll never know! Can you imagine those bums leaving everything alone and turn on their heels? They even sell their sisters and girlfriends, let alone leaving those things on the ground!

  25. They are a scourge on the collecting world, if you find items on the surface then its not too bad but these guys are digging into graves and disturbing history of a site, for the only reasons ...Profit and greed, they show no respect for anyone who fought in these positions and probably died there
