I recently bought some inert 5.45 AK74 rounds and they've been confiscated by the post office, now I've got rounds and grenades before without any problem. Do they let you know if they have destroyed them or not? cheers. Francie.

I found another forum and joined. These guys know the Colt 1917 and associated leather very well. It turns out that this is in fact a reproduction. One of them sent me a link to a site that had MY holster with the G&K stamp. The only difference is that mine has a hole in the bottom and that particular one didn’t. Thanks for all your help, I’m pretty much satisfied that it’s a reproduction. There’s always a chance, but those guys know the Colt 1917 and Holsters very well. I do not. Gotta go with the experts.
