  2. Ok folks, We need to get to a critical mass here, enough members posting so we can keep it busy. We’ve got over 28k members on the MCN FB groups, but the majority are too lazy to go back to forums. We need to make sure there’s an incentive for them to use the forum... So, invite away, tour the forum in all your groups and forums, bring them here... You bring the people and I’ll give you a great place to hang out. 😉

  3. Thanks for the email reminder. I haven't been on here in over a year and totally agree that Facebook doesn't deserve us. I want to be able to buy and trade items without being policed by people who are not interested in the subject matter, and who feel that they occupy the moral high ground regarding what is or is not acceptable for a group on their platform. I would be very happy to become more involved with this forum, and certainly hope that more people feel the same.

  4. Yes Dave,it’s an “out of woodwork” helmet coming out of the woodwork 😅 Having been covered with a layer of greasy stuff for such a long time both the decal and the bare metal have been preserved and the steel has a very peculiar “bonderised/parkerised” look to it.I don’t have many helmets but all of them make me sleep nice and tight, including the few camos! 6. The US M-5 anti flack helmet there were thought to be approx 100,000 examples manufactured by wars end... And were the last in the series used by the USAAF in the Second World War, this type became the standard issue in January of 1945 There were a few modification on its predecessor the M-3 such as having deeper ear-flaps that gave greater protection to the wearer's cheeks the front rim was removed and the profile was raised to allow greater visibility and a better fit for the type B-8 goggles.. The metal on the interior and exterior of the helmet body was covered with a very fine short fuzzy flocking which is quite reminiscent of peach fuzz...This was applied to help prevent the bare steel from sticking to ones skin do to extreme cold well flying at high altitudes..
